Hello everyone,
Index Data will be testing ReShare/FOLIO requesting this week. You won't
need to do anything, but I'm giving you a heads up because you may notice
activity on the test records/patrons in your production FOLIO instances
during testing.
We will let you know if/when there is any testing you need to do. In
the meantime, don't forget that ReShare training will be next week! We will
be sending out the Zoom link prior to training next Wednesday 7/24.
Regards,
Jenn

Hello everyone,
We anticipate that IndexData will be reaching out to you next week to begin
setting up SSO for the ReShare OPAC (VuFind). In the meantime, you may want
to alert your IT department that we will be setting up SSO with the ReShare
VuFind in the near future.

Jenn

Greetings,
Mark your calendars. ReShare training dates will be as follows:
- VuFind (OPAC) — Wednesday, July 24, 10 am to 11:30 am
- ReShare Staff Interface — Thursday, July 25, 10 am to 3 pm (1 hour
break for lunch at 12 pm)
These trainings will be held on Zoom and will be recorded for anyone who
cannot attend. FLO will offer ongoing support and training in the future
for ReShare as well, so this will not be anyone's last chance to learn the
system.
We will send out Zoom details and agendas closer to the meeting dates.
Thanks,
Joe

Greetings ReShare Adopters,
I'm continuing to get things ready as much as possible before the ReShare
implementation starts and there is another bit of data I need to collect. I
need to know what you want to use as units in your ReShare instances. Here
is the definition of a unit:
Each directory entry may have units that represent divisions of the parent
> entry. The hierarchy for a particular directory entry may have any number
> of levels and be configured according to each institution’s organizational
> structure.
> Each institution is required to have at least one unit. It is recommended
> that additional units be created for the following reasons:
>
> - The unit will function as a pick up location
> - The unit will operate as a separate ILL processing location
>
> So, I need a list of all of the locations that you will use for patrons to
pick up items or that will serve as processing locations. For instance, NYU
has many units, including NYU Lapidus Health Sciences Library, Locker
Pickup, and Home Delivery. These will likely be similar to what you set up
as service points in FOLIO, but there may be some differences.
Please send me your list by *Friday, May 31*. Let me know if you have
questions.
Best,
Joe

Greetings,
We are starting to lay the groundwork for our ReShare implementation and I
need to know what each school would like to use as your reply-to email
address in the system. This is the reply-to address for all patron
correspondence. Often schools use an ILL, notices, or circulation email
address. Please let me know what you would like to use by May 22.
Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks,
Joe

Greetings,
I have some new information on our upcoming ReShare implementation. After
much discussion with Index Data, we believe that we can implement ReShare
for our FOLIO libraries over a 10 week timeframe. This is a shorter
timeline than I had anticipated, but because we are Index Data customers
for both systems, we benefit from a lot of efficiencies. This schedule also
allows us to incorporate the four new FOLIO libraries at the same time as
the two existing FOLIO systems into the shared ReShare index (Reservoir).
With this in mind, our process will start at the end of May with an
estimated go live of August 5. This schedule has some buffer time built-in
in August, before the fall semester starts, in the event that we run into
unforeseen issues.
FLO will continue to work with Index Data leading up to the start of the
project in May, and I will keep you informed as the process develops.
I look forward to implementing this exciting new system with you soon.
Regards,
Joe
